About this event
London: The Three Parks Walk: Chestnuts, Downhills & Lordship Rec
There is a new route for this week’s walk! It will take us through the three different Parks that run through the east of the borough! We meet at Chestnuts Community Centre at 11.30, and stroll through the paths there, before crossing West Green Road and entering the larger Downhill’s Park with its lawns and flowerbeds and leisure facilities. Then we cross into the even larger (48 acre) sprawling Lordship Park and take a turn through its Woodland Walk, rounding its lake, wildlife and extensive sports facilities, and taking the path north to Lordship Lane, before doubling back to Chestnuts.
There’ll be a stop for coffee and chat at the café in Lordship Park, and there are plenty of benches along the way.
For those who want to join us at Downhills, please rendez vous at the Forks & Green café on West Green at approx. 12 noon. If you would like to join us at Lordship Lane, then please rendez vous at the gate opposite Waltheof Avenue at approx. 12.45 but do let us know so we can look out for you!
This walk is mostly flat and accessible, with a slight incline on return exit from Lordship Park. As usual we will cater for both the amblers and the pacier striders!
