£32k funding award from the London Community Response Fund

We have secured a very welcome grant of £32,100 from the Mayor’s London Community Response Fund to help us develop a programme of social activities, online and face-to-face, for over 50s in Haringey.

This funding, which comes via the The National Lottery Community Fund, distributed by City Bridge Trust through the London Community Response Fund, was secured by our sister social enterprise Public Voice and will enable us to employ two Social Activity Organisers and to equip them with the tools they need to build and deliver an extensive programme of activities and events whilst also to growing local friendship groups and mutual support for over 50s in the borough.

Many older people are living alone and during the last six months have been shielding and becoming even more isolated from family, friends and social networks. Sadly, most of the social activities that were running before the pandemic are no longer active so our Social Activity Organisers will help to rebuild the network of community activities that is so important to the health and wellbeing of our older residents.
